Christmas is coming soon...

I hope you all are doing well and not too stressed getting ready for a special season of giving glory to our Savior and spending time with family and friends.

I have openings to present holiday and winter projects for you and your friends.  Have your husbands e-mail your favorite pick if there are any gifts still to purchase.

Also, be thinking toward next January 24 - March 31st.  The annual Sale-a-Bration promotion runs during those dates.  Sale-a-Bration is a great time to buy a more expensive set you have been wishing for and also get a free pick for every $50 you spend.  I'm excited about several of the items in the Sale-a-Bration catalog as well as the Occasions Mini Catalog (starts January 4).

Merry Christmas!

Fall Wreath

I hope you all are enjoying the fall colors.  I've seen the beginnings of color around the last few days.

I've completed my second lolli wreath, this one a gift for my mother-in-law's birthday.
Supplies... Stampin' Up! Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper and coordinating Regals Card Stock, Antique Brads, Soft Suede 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon, Simply Scored, Big Shot and Circles Scallop #2, Scallop Circle Punch, 1/2" & 3/4" Circle Punches, Dazzling Details, Crystal Effects, Sticky Strip, Hot Glue (to attach to wreath frame)

Process... For a large lolli, use a 2" wide strip about 14" (yes, you will have to attach two pieces to achieve this length).  Small lollies can be cut a variety of widths from 12x12 card stock or Designer Series Paper (11" or 12" is plenty for the smaller sizes).  Score one side of the paper every 1/2" starting at 1/2", then flip and score every 1/2" starting at 1/4".  Fold accordion style and attach ends with Sticky Strip.  Gently fold and manipulate to lay the lolli flat.  Punch out 2 circles to use as a stabilizer - apply crystal effects to area near lolli center and on the circle.  Place circle to cover center of lolli and apply pressure for 30 seconds to set the adhesive.  Flip and place the other circle.  Again apply a bit of pressure or put under a "heavy object" to set.  Repeat for layers.  Use hot glue to attach the lollies to the wreath frame.  Contact me with questions.

I really liked the way my wreath frame worked out - the first one I used, I cut too small from a thin cardboard.  The frame below came from a store and I covered it using scrap fabric cut into bias strips.  From a past project, I still had spray adhesive in my closet - worked great.

Individual lolli close-ups...

Crystal Effects gives the shiny dimension on the leaf.

Dazzling Details used to outline the leaf and give the sparkle.

Antique brads as centers.

Happy Crafting!

Fall Birthday Cards

Birthday cards are needed all year round.  It's nice when they can be tailored to season and or gender.  In this post I used one set of Specialty Designer Series Paper to create two birthday cards - one male, one female.  I like how color and shapes set off the gender differences.  From this template, you could create several cards at once and have several on hand for the next birthday on your calendar!

Specialty Designer Series Paper - Mocha Morning
Card Stock - Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze, Garden Green
Stamp Sets - Flower Fest, So Happy for You
Classic Ink - Cajun Craze
Punch - Build a Bird
Big Shot, Sizzix Leaves #2 Die, Sizzix Fun Flowers Die

Specialty Designer Series Paper - Mocha Morning

Card Stock - Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Stamp Sets - Just Football, Jumble Alphabet, Pennant Parade
Classic Ink - Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Punch - Petite Pennants Builder Punch

Happy Birthday - masculine

I know many of us can have a shortage of ideas when creating cards for the men in our lives - we are used to doing the frilly, dainty, colorful ones for our girl friends or kids.

I came across a great set of Designer Series Paper and coordinating colors for a masculine birthday card.

Well Worn Designer Series Paper
Classic Ink - Cajun Craze, Early Espresso
Card Stock - Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Stamp Sets - Punch Bunch, The More the Merrier

Ready for your crafts to "SCORE"?

It's August 31st.  Wow, the summer quarter will end today, but not the summer heat - thru Saturday our highs will be 95+.  Here is a picture to encourage your mind to think cool...

Begin your fall decorating with a wreath.  To help with creating the paper lollies (rosettes), Stampin' Up! is introducing Simply Scored (2011 Holiday Mini begins TOMORROW).  Simply Scored is a 12"x12" scoring platform with grove lines every 1/8".  How nice to quickly score the strips of paper to make the lollies.  It also makes distinct scoring lines on your other projects.

Contact me today to schedule your fall workshop!  I am so excited about the Harvest and Christmas project ideas.  There are also plenty for the "Spooky" Halloween crafter as well.

Blessings,  Dawn

Taking a break... Christmas in July!

I just realized now was a good moment to take a quick break and check-in, I've been wanting to - just busy!

I hope you have had a chance to take a look at the Summer Mini Catalog and gone on-line to view the 2011-12 Idea Book & Catalog.  Now is a great time to start thinking about future projects - Autumn Harvest themes, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and everyone's favorite - Christmas.  In fact, if you are interested in a good deal for your handcrafted Christmas, check out the special running through July 31st... Join Stampin' Up! with a Limited Time $99 Starter Kit and receive a Christmas Keepsake Project Kit.

Tis the season - graduation!

Graduation project
A small but personalized gift for the high school seniors...

I created monogrammed flat & folded note cards using Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio™, digital design software for photo books, scrapbook pages, cards and more!  Besides their initials, the cards are personalized with school colors and designs based on male or female student.

To create a card holder, I adapted a simple box template (found on the Demonstrator Web Site) to fit the size of the cards & envelopes.  To give the holder an extra touch - I punched the top edge with either the scallop edge border punch or the scallop trim border punch.
I hope you are finding great ideas for grads, moms, brides, teachers and all the other special occasions occurring in May.  I will post more projects as they are finished.  As much as I tried to be ahead of the game - I'm running behind schedule!

I do have time scheduled during the next few weeks to present a workshop or would welcome anyone who wants to come see a demonstration and try-out My Digital Studio.  Be sure to check out the following flyer (you can now purchase My Digital Studio Express - a downloadable version that comes with the full software and fresh, minimal digital content using Stampin’ Up!’s artwork, designs, and colors! Windows and Mac compatible.)  My Digital Studio flyer

Have a blessed week!

April Showers... Time to stamp!

April showers have me inside today - no tennis, kids baseball games, gardening - all activities I enjoy, but do keep me from stamping!  This month went by so fast.

So, today is April 27th, that means 4 more days left for the Occasions mini catalog.  Be sure to look back at your catalog and see if there are any "must haves" on your wish list.  Also, if you are interested in the Spring is Blossoming sneak peek promotion, it ends Saturday as well.

While one catalog may have 4 days left, that means it's only 4 days until a new catalog is available - Summer Mini Catalog!  Hopefully, you've had a chance to view and make a wish list if you received the catalog in the mail.  One of the sets I'm excited about is the Strength & Hope stamp set.  It is beautiful, versatile and especially meaningful for anyone walking a difficult journey.  Stampin' Up! choose this set with the idea, "making a difference starts with One Stamp Set".
Throughout the 2011 Summer Mini Catalog sales period, Stampin' Up! will donate $2* from the sale of each Strength & Hope set and Strength & Hope digital kit to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).  *Stampin' Up! is donating $2 from this purchase to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® . BCRF is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide. For more information about BCRF, visit
I remember how much it meant to my mother to receive cards during her battle with ovarian cancer.  I have workshop plans to focus on this stamp set, including preparing a set of cards to encourage those we know.  Please call or e-mail me to schedule a date to host a workshop.

I Enjoy what I do...

Stampin' Up!
To love what we do and share what we love,
As we help others enjoy creativity
And worthwhile accomplishments . . .
In this we make a difference!
Statement of the Heart
Today I was reminded again how much I enjoy being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator - lots of fun, creative projects to make.  I am an accountant by trade, so I can recreate details, but need help with the ideas.  Having access to the Stampin' Up! demonstrator website with thousands of creative ideas from demonstrators around the world is a blessing.  My favorite places to look are Stampin' Connection for ideas based on a particular product and the Pattern Library.

Today, as I sat down to prepare my standard wedding gift - monogrammed note cards, I noticed a pattern I printed out to try - Box Pattern #25.  I did have to expand the size to fit the cards and enjoyed myself all the while.  I used the following...
*Stamp Sets - Punch Potpourri, Lovely Letters
* In Color cardstock, DSP, and Stampin' Write Markers
*(my new!) Sizzix Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die, Scalloped Heart Of Hearts Stampin' Up! Embosslits Die, Punch Windows Movers & Shapers Stampin' Up! Heart Die, and Full Heart Punch(Yes, I am so thankful to have my Big Shot - now my sister-in-law and I can create anytime.  With kids and activities we frequently come up with ideas at the last minute, so having it nearby is a blessing.  Thank you so much for sharing so often with me!)

Here is the final product...

Happy Stamping...
