Coffee- just for you

Have a coffee lover friend?  Send them a treat "just for you"...

(CASE from Stacey Cogswell, July 2012 Stampin' Success.)

This is a quick and easy card whether you have a Big Shot and Simply Scored or just your own scoring device and paper.  The ones above are made using the Bigz XL Bitty Box & Envelope Die.  I die cut two envelopes, cut off the edges of the bottom one and placed adhesive on the edge of the top one to make a pocket.  Any instant coffee tube packet will now fit in easily.

If you have a Big Shot, you can recreate this card using the Bigz XL Petite Pocket die from the 2012-13 Annual Catalog.  Check back soon and I'll have another post showing how to make this work for a tea bags as well.  I'm just waiting till my Morning Cup Stamp Set arrives - it has images for coffee and tea lovers!

Cards with a gift box

Card Sets

If teachers are like the rest of us, being able to grab a card to write a quick note is a time saver.  I decided to make cards for my boys teachers this year.  Probably, my favorite part of it all was making a card holder box using the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate (125586) used with Simply Scored (122334).

Throughout these pictures, you'll see how cards can be simple or you can "step it up" (phrase used in Stampin' Success) to make the card extra special.  A product list of the stamp sets, tools and papers available in the 2012-13 Annual Catalog follow at the end.

Get your creative thoughts flowing and use this idea to make your own card sets for all your gift needs.  Through color & paper designs, the cards can be tailored to male or female, holiday or most any occasion.

Graduation Gifts

May was a busy time, graduation gifts, teachers gifts, retirement gifts...

The graduation gifts below are sets of monogram cards made with My Digital Studio.  The card container is made from two Fancy Favor Stampin' Up! Bigz Xl Die (115965).  For the pieces to fit, cut the end off of one piece.  Use the cut piece to attach over the cards.

For those of you not familiar with My Digital Studio,  it is an intuitive digital design software featuring Stampin’ Up!’s exclusive artwork, colors, and templates.  You can create scrapbooks with photos, photo books, calendars with photos, cards, journals and more.  I like MDS  because you have complete creative control to place as many pictures, background designs, etc., rather than be limited to just a few templates.  Then for those times I'm in a hurry, they have great templates to create and go.  You can experiment with MDS yourself using the 30-day My Digital Studio Express Trial - Digital Download (129600).  Use this link to see the MDS options available...

Keep in mind!!! MDS 2 is coming in late 2012.  With this new My Digital Studio software you’ll be able to:
  • Design in spreads
  • Create with custom canvas sizes
  • Add more than one color to a single stamp image
  • Resize vector stamp images while keeping them crisp
  • See color combination suggestions
  • And much more
Already have My Digital Studio and want MDS 2? Don’t worry; you’ll be able to purchase an upgrade ($19.95) to enjoy all the new design features.

Bitty Banners and In-Color

The basis for these cards comes from a Stampin' Success article showing off the 2012-14 In-Color collection.  Each card has the 5 colors... Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Gumball Green.  Card stock, patterned papers, ink and embellishments bring all the In-Color elements together in one card.  The sentiment banners are from the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set, Clear-Mount (126257) or Wood-Mount (126255).  The banners say "Happy Birthday", "Congratulations", "For You", "Sweet Baby", "Love You" and "Thank You".  They are die-cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits Die (129267).  The remaining products are listed below the pictures.

Memorable Moments

As everyone with kids knows, it's hard to find a birthday card with the correct birthday year and appropriate sentiment for the child.  Here's an answer for you...

Memorable Moments Stamp Set (Clear-Mount 126682) or (Wood-Mount 126680)
The set also has "Anniversary" and "st, nd, rd" to fit all numbers and an out-line stamp that can be die-cut using the Labels Collection Framelits Dies (125598).

For this card, I used the round die-cut that's part of the Perfect Pennants Perfect Pennants Bigz Die (123126).  The small pennants are formed by the Petite Pennants Builder Punch (122361).  Colors are Midnight Muse and Gumball Green (2012-14 In-Colors) with Real Red and Marina Mist.

Quick Camp Treats

Even thought it was still last minute, I remembered I wanted to take treats for my kids, fellow camp cooks and friends on staff.  Stampin' Up!'s coordinating products are one of my favorite ways to create quick gifts and treats.  In the pictures below, you see a set of treats using 1" X 8" Cellophane Bag  (124134) and stamped tags with coordinating punches Curly Label (119851), 1-3/4" Scallop Circle (119854), 1" Square (124094) and 1-1/4" Square (119865).  The card stock and ink colors are from the 2012-14 In-Color set.

These treat bags are made with the Petite Purse Bigz L Die (125606).  The label is die-cut using the Labels Collection Framelits Dies (125598).  The card stock colors are from the 2011-13 In-Color set coordinating with 2011-12 Berry Blossom DSP.

2012-13 Annual Catalogs, Card Club?

Hello, friends! Here is a great idea, spend a few relaxing moments enjoying your A/C while browsing the 2012-13 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. I have several in stock and would be glad to get one to you. Please let me know if you are interested. Also, please let me know if you would come to a monthly or bimonthly card club. While making card sets for teacher gifts, I realized how low my stockpile had gotten and how much I liked making a stack of cards in one sitting. Each session would have a theme - birthday, holiday, occassions (wedding, anniversary, congratulations, etc.). If you think you might miss a month, never fear, I can prepare kit packages (all you need at home is your adhesives). Have a blessed day! Look for projects to post soon. Dawn
